Rit Locus occupies a position nobody else on the lineup can. As co-founder, he is part of the event's authorship, not just its execution. That changes the way the set reads. It is not only a performance; it is a self-portrait of the festival's taste, priorities and sense of narrative. Even if his billing sits lower, his symbolic value is far higher.

The practical upside is that founder-artists tend to understand pacing and crowd flow better than most because they know the whole weekend, not just their own slot. That can make for unusually generous programming instincts in the booth. Rather than trying to steal the event from within it, the best founder sets tend to reinforce what the festival wants to be. Rit Locus is useful for exactly that reason.

He also returned in 2025 after showing up in the Tulum and Bali orbit earlier, so this is less a novelty and more a structural part of LOCUS now.
